Abstract: |
The corrosion resistance of 7075 aluminum alloy containing 0.3%Er was examined by means of intergranular corrosion and polarization curve testing. And microstructure of the alloy was examed by OM (optical microscope) and SEM (scanning electron microscope). Phase analysis was done by X ray diffractometer. The results indicate that the microstructure is small with large granular or rod-shaped precipitates phase on the grain boundary mainly for Al3Er and a small amount of Al8Cu4Er. The corrosion resistance of the alloy is good and the intergranular corrosion of the alloy increases with the increase of temperature. The corrosion was increased slowly under 80℃, and increased obviously at 100℃.The intergranular corrosion resistance is the best in neutral solution and the worst in alkaline solution. The result is consistent with the result of polarization curves. |
