Abstract:
The effect of forging method on the microstructure and properties of 30CrNi2MoV steel under low temperature tempering and long tempering time was studied by tensile testing machine, impact testing machine, metallographic corrosion test and hardness test. The results show that the tensile strength of 30CrNi2MoV steel after two times upsetting and stretching forging process reaches 1070.1MPa. The tensile strength is increased from 1070.1MPa to 1215.4MPa and 1189.8MPa respectively by the upsetting again based on two times upsetting and stretching forging process or the upsetting and stretching again based on two times upsetting and stretching forging process. Similarly, the impact toughness is improved from 39.67J to 85.33J and 84.67J respectively. To some extent, the hardness has been increased from 375HB to 417.83HB and 393.87HB respectively. The strength of the forging is improved which results from the refinement and uniformity of the grain inside the material. It is found that the strengthening effect of the subsequent forging process on the material is obviously higher than two times upsetting and stretching forging process.
