Abstract:
To analyze the shear behavior of soft structure plane under different normal stresses and shear rates, the model of soft sawtooth structure plane containing a soft stratum was established through numerical simulation. The direct shear tests under different loading speeds were simulated, the stress-strain relationships during shear tests were discussed, the relational expression between shear strength τ, normal stress σ_n and shear speed v was also established. The results showed that, under the same normal stress, with the increase of shear speed, peak displacement increased linearly, the rate of stress drop increased followed by decreased in strain softening stage and reached the peak value when shear speed was 0.25mm/step. Shear strength τ_1 increased while residual strength τ_2 decreased. The ratio of residual strength over shear strength (τ_2/τ_1) approximately decreased linearly between 0.95 and 0.3. The relational expression between shear strength, normal stress and shear speed could be expressed as: τ=m vtanβ σ_n tanθ nvσ_n lv^2 σ_n.
