Abstract:
The process of extracting alumina by roasting of coal fly ash and CaCl2 was studied in this experiment. The effects of roasting temperature, roasting time, mass ratio of calcium chloride and coal fly ash on the extracting alumina were investigated, the kinetics and mechanism of roasting reaction were analyzed. The experimental results show that the optimum conditions are: roasting temperature is 900oC, roasting time is 30min, mass ratio of calcium chloride and coal fly ash is1:1, The extracting rate of alumina is 93.48% in this condition, the main reaction products are CaAl2Si2O8、CaSiO3 、Ca12Al14O33 and Ca3Fe3(SiO4)3. The reaction of coal fly ash and CaCl2 is controlled by internal diffusion, and its apparent activation energy is Ea=20.13kJ/mol, which accords with the reaction kinetic equation: 1-2X/3-(1-X) 2/3=0.0517exp[-20130/(RT)]t.
